SIMON BAKER

Simon Lucas Baker, known as Simon Baker, is an Australian actor in television and films, as well as director.

He has been known for his roles in The Mentalist as Patrick Jane and in The Guardian as Nicholas Fallin.

He began his acting career in 1992 appearing on the Australian serie E Street as Sam Farrell.

Moreover, Simon has been nominated for many awards but has won only four: with E Street (Logie Awards in the Most Popular New Talent category), with The Guardian (Family Television Awards in the Best Actor category), in The Mentalist (People´s Choice Awards in the category of Best new series) and with Breath (AACTA Awards in the category of Best Supporting Actor).


STEVE IRWIN

Stephen Robert Irwin was an Australian zookeeper, conservationist, television personality, wildlife expert and evironmentalist. Also nicknamed “The Crocodile Hunter”.

Steve achieved worldwide fame through the television series “The Crocodile Hunter”, which he co-hosted with his wife, Terri.

In 2006, while filming a documentary on Australia´s Great Barrier Reef, Irwin died after being pierced in the chest by a short-tailed stingray. Terri and their two sons, who remain in the care of the Australian Zoo.

 

RUBY ROSE

Ruby Rose Langenheim is an Australian actress, model and television presenter on MTV Australia.

She began her modelling career in 2002 in Girlfriend´s (Australian teenage girl magazine) model search. In addition, Rose competed with 2000 other people to get her job as VJ for MTV Australia.

Ruby Rose appeared in these films: Around The Block, Vanquish, The Doorman, Sheep and Wolves and many more

 

TRAVIS FIMMEL

Travis Fimmel is an Australian actor and model,

Travis' modelling career began when he was spotted working out in a gym by a talent scout. He was an exclusive Calvin Klein model for a whole year and was personally hired by the brand's designer.

He´s known for his role as Ragnar Lothbrok in Vikings

    CHRIS HEMSWORTH

Chris Hemsworth, born in Melbourne (Australia), is an actor who jumped to stardom with his portrayal of Thor. He has also played roles such as: Agent H (Men in Black: International), Thor (Avengers Endgame/Infinity War, Ragnarok and The Dark World), Tyler Rake (Tyler Rake), Kevin (Ghostbusters) and more.

Chris began his acting career in 2002, appearing on TV series such as Guinevere Jones, Marshall Law.

 

    NICOLE KIDMAN

Nicole Mary Kidman, known as Nicole Kidman, is an Australian and American actress and producer. She is recognized as one of the highest-paid actresses.

She began her acting career in 1983 with the films Bush Christmas and BMX Bandits. On the other hand, she achieved international success with the film Days Of Thunder.

She has received awards such as: Academy Award, British Academy Film Award, Screen Actors Guild Award, two Primetime Emmy Awards and six Golden Globe Awards.

 

    HUGH JACKMAN

Hugh Michael Jackman, known as Hugh Jackman, is an Australian actor, singer, multi-instrumentalist, dancer and producer. Also, he gained international recognition for his roles in major films, notably as a superhero and romance characters. He´s best known for his role as Wolverine in the X-Men film series. Moreover, he´s also known for these films: Kate & Leopold, Van Helsing, The Prestige and The Fountain, Australia, the film version of Les Misérables and the thriller Prisioners.

He won his first Academy Award (Best actor) in Les Misérables and his fist Golden Globe Award  for Best actor. Also, he won a Tony Award for his role of The Boy from Oz, he hosted the Tony Awards four times, won an Emmy Award in one of those appearances


ERIC BANA

With 18 years of career and more than 30 movies and series. His performing career began in the early 1990s as a comedian on the sketch show Full Frontal, and he later gained critical acclaim for his performance in the biopic Chopper. His first opportunity in Hollywood came in 2001, when he was chosen by Ridley Scott to star in the film 'Black Hawk Down'. Thanks to this role he would receive many others like ‘Hulk’.

 

PAUL HOGAN

Paul Hogan is an Australian actor, comedian, film producer, writer and television producer.

His first public appearence was on Australian television in 1971, the Nine Network´s amateur talent program New Faces. On the other hand, he produced and wrote his comedy program "The Paul Hogan Show", in which he played characters with Cornell and Delvene Delaney, this program has 60 episodes in total that were transmitted between 1973 and 1984. It was popular in the UK and South Africa.

In addition, he has won the Golden Globe Award for Best Actor and Motion Picture Musical or Comedy.

 

HEATH LEDGER

Heath Andrew Ledger, known as Heath Ledger was an Australian film and television actor, he won an Academy Award, a BAFTA, a Golden Globe and an Screen Actors Guild Award for his iconic portrayal of the Joker in The Dark Knight.

Ledger died on 22 January 2008, found lying in his bed. An autopsy showed that his death was caused by acute intoxication from medicines he was taking for his insomnia.

 

CATE BLANCHETT

Catherine Elise Blanchett is an Australian actress. Considered one of the best actresses of her generation, she is known for her versatile work in independent films, blockbusters and theatre.

She has received two Academy Awards, three British Academy Film Awards, three Screen Actors Guild Awards and three Golden Globes.

She also began her acting career in Australian television, taking roles in "Electra" (1992) and "Hamlet" (1994).

 

RUSSELL CROWE

Russell Crowe is a New Zealand actor, director and musician.

Director Daniel Abineri cast him in his first professional role in a New Zealand production of The Rocky Horror Show. He played the role of Eddie/Dr. Scott.

He won the Academy Award for Best Actor for Gladiator (2000) and was nominated twice more for The Insider (1999) and A Beautiful Mind (2001), making him the ninth actor to have received three consecutive Academy Award nominations. He has also received six Golden Globe Award nominations (winning two), three BAFTA Award nominations (winning one) and three Screen Actors Guild Award nominations (winning one).

Samuel Henry John Worthington, known as Sam Worthington is an Australian actor.

He began his acting career in the 2000s when he played a small role in the Aussie dance film “Bootmen”. Worthington has also appeared in these films: Somersault (as Joe), Thunderstruck (as Ronnie), Terminator Salvation (as Marcus Wright), Avatar (as Jake Sully/ Tom Sully), The Last Son (as Isaac Lemay)…

    He won an FCCA (Film Critics Circle of Australia) with Dirty Deeds, an AFI Award, FCCA Award and IF Award with Somersault (Best supporting actor/ Best (Male) Actor), an Saturn Award, AACTA (Australian Academy of Cinema and Television Arts) Award, Empire Award with Avatar (Best Actor).

Rebel Wilson is an Australian producer, writer and actress. She trained at the Australian Theatre for Young People and at Second City in the US. After a successful stage and television career in Australia, she focuses on feature film projects in the United States.

She´s most known for her breakthrough role in the films Bridesmaids and Pitch Perfect.

    Other films that she appeard are: Jojo Rabbit, Isn´t it romantic (she produced it), The Hustle (she also produced it), Tom Hopper´s Cats and the television serie Les Norton.

Naomi Ellen Watts is a British actress. She made her film debut appearing in the Australian drama For Love Alone in 1986. Naomi has also appeared in: Hey Dad..! (Australian television series), Brides Of Christ, Home And Away, Insurgent, The Divergent Series, The Sea Of Trees....

She has won an Academy Award for Best Actress, a Golden Globe for Best Actress in Drama, BAFTA for Best Actress...

 

GEOFFREY RUSH

Geoffrey Roy Rush is an Austtralian actor and storyteller, he´s best known for his role as Captain Barbossa in the Pirates of the Caribbean franchise.

Rush got his start on the Australian stage before making his Broadway debut in Exit the King, where he received a Tony Award for Best Actor in a play for his perfomance. He´s also known for his television work playing Peter Sellers in The Life and Death of Peter Sellers on HBO, for which he won a Primetime Emmy Award.

Mel Columcille Gerard Gibson is an American actor, film director, producer and screenwriter.

He´s best known for his action hero roles, an example is his role as Max Rockatansky in the first three films of the action series Mad Max.

Baz Luhrmann is an Australian director, writer and producer. On screen he´s best known for his “Red Curtain Trilogy”, consisting of his romantic comedy film Strictly Ballroom, William Shakespeare´s romantic tragedies Romeo + Juliet and Mouling Rouge!

Luhrmann is equally known for his Grammy-nominated soundtracks for Mouling Rouge! And The Great Gatsby.

Sir Peter Robert Jackson is a New Zealand film director, producer and screenwriter. Peter is best known as the director, writer and producer for the Lord of the Rings trilogy and the Hobbit trilogy.

In addition, Jackson has received three Academy Awards for The Lord of  the Rings: The Return of the King, incluiding Best Director

Eleanor Nancy MacPherson is an Australian model, actress, television host and businesswoman.

Miranda May Kerr is an Australian model and businesswoman. Also, she rose to fame in 2007 as one of Victoria's Secret Angels and has launched her organic skincare brand (KORA Organics) and written a self-help book.

JULIAN ASSANGE

Julian Paul Assange is an Australian editor, activist and publisher who founded WikiLeaks (2006).

WikiLeaks came to attention in 2010 when a series of leaks provided by US Army intelligence analyst Chelsea Manning were published. These leaks included the Baghdad airstrike collateral murder video, Afghanistan war logs, Iraq war logs and Cablegate.

He won an Walkley Award, The Economist New Media Award, Sydney Pace Foundation Gold Medal

 

NED KELLY

Ned Kelly is one of Australia´s most famous bushrangers of the 19th century.

In 1877, he helped his brother (Dan Kelly) escape because a policeman wanted to arrest him for horse theft, so Ned shot and wounded the policeman to help his brother.

They fled to the bush, where two men joined them and later formed the Kelly gang, which committed robberies between Victoria and New South Wales.

In June 1880, Ned was injured and arrested by the police, his fellow gang members were killed. Nede was taken to Melbourne jail, where he was hanged

 

BRUCE KINGSBURY

Bruce Steel Kingsbury was an Australian soldier of the Second World War.

Bruce gained recognition at the Battle of Isurava, where he was awarded the Victoria Cross for bravery “in the face of the enemie”. In this battle, Kingsbury was one of the few survivors of the Japanese attacks. After volunteering to fight back, Bruce Kingsbury was killed by sniper fire.

But, thanks to him, all the soldiers were able to save their battalion headquarters

 

TERENCE TAO

Terence “Terry” Chi-Sen Tao is an Australian-American mathematician. He´s a professor of the University of California, Los Angeles.

Tao received the Fields Medal in 2006 and the Breakthrough Award and is considered one of the greatest mathematicians.

On the other hand, Terence Tao is a member of the Royal Society, the Australian Academy of Sciences, the National Academy of Sciences, the American Academy of Arts and Sciences, the American Philosophical Society and the American Mathematical Society


SIR EDMUND HILLARY

Sir Edmund Hillary was a New Zealand mountain climber. Edmund was also an Antartic explorer who, with Tenzing Norgay, reached the summit of Mt Everest.

On the other hand, he was awarded the Polar Medal, the Queen Elizabeth II Coronation Medal.

Sir Edmund Hillary Outdoor Pursuits Centre, was a charity which introduced young New Zealanders to the outdoors and Hillary was a sponsor for 35 years. Also, the five-dollar note has his portrait on it since 1992.

He died of a heart attack
